Applying a tumbler wrap design well is the difference between a finish that looks professional and one that peels within a week. Here's the process we recommend to every customer who picks up one of our wrap designs.
1. Prep the surface first
Clean the tumbler with rubbing alcohol and let it dry completely. Any dust, oil, or residue left behind will show up as a bubble or a weak spot once the wrap is applied.
2. Work from the center out
Starting in the middle of the design and smoothing outward in both directions gives air a place to escape instead of getting trapped under the film.
3. Use heat sparingly
A low, even heat from a heat gun or hair dryer helps the wrap settle into curves — but too much too fast can warp the design. Short passes work better than one long blast.
4. Seal the edges last
Once the main wrap is smooth, go back and firmly press every edge and seam. This is the step people skip, and it's the one that determines how long the wrap actually lasts.
Every tumbler wrap design in our shop is sized and tested for standard 20oz and 30oz tumblers, so sizing shouldn't be something you have to think about — just the technique.
